Honours Single Major BA (48 Credits)

Required Courses:

    • AP/SOSC 1375 3.0 Introductory Socio-Legal Studies
    • AP/SOSC 2350 6.0 Law & Society.
      Pre-requisite: AP/SOSC 1375 3.0. A minimum final grade of C+ is required in SOSC 2350 6.0 in order to continue in the Law & Society Program.
    • AP/SOSC 3375 3.0 Socio-legal Theories
    • A minimum of 12 credits from the list of CORE course offerings.
    • An additional 18 credits from either the CORE or EXTENDED list of course offerings. At least 6 of these credits must be at the 4000 level.
    • One of a selection of 4000- level Law & Society Honours Seminars.
      Pre-requisite: AP/SOSC 2350 6.0 with a minimum final grade of C+ and completion of at least 84 credits.

Honours Double Major BA - Unlinked (42 Credits)

A Law & Society double major may be pursued jointly with any other Honours BA program in the Faculties of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, Environmental Studies, Fine Arts, Health or Science and Engineering.

Courses taken to meet Law & Society requirements may not also be used to meet the requirements of your second major.

  • AP/SOSC 2350 6.0 Law & Society

Honours Double Major BA - Linked Interdisciplinary (42 Credits)

Law & Society may be linked with any other Honours Interdisciplinary BA program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.

To pursue a linked interdisciplinary Law & Society Double Major, students must co-major with the one of the following interdisciplinary programs: African Studies, European Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Social and Political Thought and South Asian Studies.

Courses taken to meet Law & Society requirements may not also be used to meet the requirements of the interdisciplinary program.

Honours Major/Minor BA (42 Credits)

Law & Society may be pursued jointly with any other Honours Minor Bachelor's degree program in the Faculties of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, Environmental Studies, Fine Arts, Health or Science and Engineering.

Courses taken to meet Law & Society requirements may not also be used to meet the requirements of the Minor program.

Required Courses:

    • AP/SOSC 1375 3.0 Introductory Socio-Legal Studies
    • AP/SOSC 2350 6.0 Law & Society

Note:

Law & Society does not offer a BA (90-credit degree). It is an Honours Degree only.
Students must maintain Honours Standing in order to continue in, and graduate from, the program. Graduation requirement: students must successfully complete (pass) at least 120 credits which meet the Faculty's degree and program requirements with a cumulative grade point average of at least 5.00.
